History

Many people ask about the history of the Crossing the River project. Here is a brief history that will bring you up to speed on how God has directed us to relocate to 1700 W. River Road:

Because we're a growing church, we've outgrown our current facility. So in order to continue doing ministry, we've decided to relocate. A few years ago we purchased a 42-acre parcel of land at 1700 W. River Road, on the other side of the St. Joseph River in Niles. Our plans are to raise funds to build a new building at that location. It is for that reason that we have called our plan Crossing the River.

But raising funds is not easy, especially in an economic downturn. We sought out counsel and went through a 3-year period of fund raising. Our people were very faithful and very generous in giving, but we have not yet recieved the full amount needed to break ground on a building. So we are currently considering what our next steps in this process will be.

Our plans have not changed. We still believe God is leading us, as a church, to Cross the River and build a new church building. That is the long-term goal of our church.

Please pray and ask God to give wisdom to the leaders of our church that are involved in this process.
